The one thing I will say is that my local range has Charter Arms guns as their only available revolvers to rent, and they haven't fallen apart after months of hard use. Now, this wouldn't be my first revolver, as I have a S&W Model 60-7 that I still love, but as I'm sure you know, once you get one gun your next thought turns towards getting another! I like the sound of their Police Undercover - a six-shot snubnose in stainless steel - but I don't want to shell out for a gun that's just going to end up going back to the factory for repairs.ĭo any of you guys have experiences - good or bad - with Charter Arms revolvers? I will say that I intend to shoot it and not just leave it as a seldom-used backup. This might be the perfect carry gun for a new shooter I know whos recoil sensitive & hates shooting my snappy LCR 38. 7 shot, small frame 3' revolver in 32 H&R Magnum. The good: light weight (16 oz) Goes bang almost every time I pull the trigger (have had some lite primer strikes). It's very light weight, although you can get a lighter model (like a 53820 only 12oz). I realize that the company has had a bit of a shaky history until the 2000s and that some of the negativity stems from lousier quality control from their earlier era. I just learned about a Charter Arms revolver I didnt know existed. My very first handgun of any kind was a Charter Arms Undercover - model 73820. However, I've heard both good and bad stories about the guns. For a while now I've been off-and-on considering getting a Charter Arms revolver.
